With my disappointment in Tim Burton’s remake (I think it was mostly the casting of Mark Wahlberg and Estella Warren but I’ll have to watch it again to refresh my feelings because it’s been quite a few years) I expected average at best from the prequel. That’s how I roll with movies these days though. I expect little and end up with more. I got much more than average from this, especially if I ignore Tom Felton’s acting. He still has a little way to go with technique. But Andy Serkis. What can I say. The usual I guess.
